Who We Are
Who We Are
Welcome to Grace Fellowship Ministries! Grace Fellowship Church was started in 2000 by Pastor Hosea Nelson Kyasooka. After pastoring a church in Mwera for 10 years, he journeyed to the streets of Kampala, Uganda's capital, and began ministering to the local population in one of the seven slums of the city. One of Pastor Nelson's first outreaches was to the street children of the area. There are thousands of vulnerable children that live on the streets due to loss of parents or the inability of parents to care for them due to poverty, disease, HIV/AIDS and wars.
Since then, the street children ministry has grown and developed into a program which serves many children.

Eventually God brought enough people together to form a church body. In 2003, after considerable prayer and by the provision of God through donations from the members of Grace Fellowship and support from other churches, we were able to buy a piece of property in Makerere Kivulu slum area of Kampala. The laying of the foundation of the church building began in 2006. The building now has walls and a roof, and houses offices, classrooms, work rooms, and a large sanctuary.
As of today, Grace Fellowship Ministries not only has an active church body with 300-400 members, we have established a primary school with over over 300 children attending, a secondary (high school) with about 50 students, two libraries, a boys' homes and a girls home for street children, outreach programs to the street children, and a health clinic. We are also starting an outreach to students of the local Makarere University. We have a school fees sponsorship program in place as well, and are very active in street and door to door evangelizing. Please check out these ministries by selecting options from the links listed on the right.
God has blessed us as we continue to minister to our church population, the community, and to the children. Please pray for us. Our opportunity is great, but so is our need. We are operating in an area that is very poor, and our outreach and impact is directly related to the level of support and funding God provides.
God Bless
